If you're at risk for heart disease or have been recently diagnosed with heart disease, don't miss this three-hour workshop. HEARRT or Heart Education And Risk Reduction Tips, is designed to show you how to make changes that are important to your heart's health. Led by exercise physiologists, occupational therapists and registered dietitians, this workshop highlights heart-healthy eating, weight management and easy ways to incorporate exercise in to your day. Stress management, smoking and diabetes are also addressed.
Is HEARRT for me?
HEARRT is for anyone diagnosed with or at risk for, heart disease. This workshop's primary goal is to reduce your risk for a heart event through self-care. Because support for family and friends are key to your success, we encourage family members to participate in the workshop. In three short hours, participants will learn valuable strategies to control high blood pressure and cholesterol, and to change or manage lifestyle risk factors. All participants receive reference materials and heart-healthy recipes.
HEARRT is offered at Fairview Ridges Hospital the third Tuesday of every other month from 6-9 p.m. beginning in January. Click here to see upcoming classes.
While the workshop is free, registration is required. For more information or to register call Fairview On Call, 612-672-7272.
