Grief is something you learn to live with, not something you get over. Youth Grief Services is a safe place where you and your children can learn to live with your grief together.
If your child is struggling with the death of a loved one, Youth Grief Services is here to help. Our mission is to ensure that the needs of grieving youth are recognized, understood and met, both within their family and within their community.
Just as every individual is unique, each person’s grief is also unique. At the same time, loss creates a common experience that other grieving people understand. Children and teens benefit from being with kids their own age who have also experienced the death of a loved one. They share the common experience of loss as well as the changes they have had to face after a loved one dies.
We offer a range of support and education services for grieving children and for the adults who care for them. We also provide grief education and presentations for organizations interested in learning more about childhood grief or supporting the grieving children they serve. As a community service of Fairview Health Services, all our services are offered free of charge.
Just as each person’s grief is unique, we know that every situation is unique. If you don’t find what you’re looking for on our website or if you aren’t quite sure what you or your kids’ need, call or email us. We are here to help. We’ll talk your situation through and get you pointed in the right direction.
