Fairview Ridges Hospital announces nursing excellence winners

The patient care teams at Fairview Ridges Hospital know a thing or two about how to take great care of our patients. Standout patient care members across nursing departments were honored during nurses week for the role they play in enhancing the care we provide our patients.

The Fairview Ridges Hospital Excellence in Nursing award recognizes the professional contributions of patient care team members. Care team members nominate their peers annually for this award. The selection criteria include: commitment to co-workers and a healthy work environment, status as a role model for learning and growing, ability to solve complex patient problems, and demonstration of the Fairview values of dignity, integrity, service and compassion.

“At Fairview Ridges Hospital, we take time and energy to recognize and honor what our nurses do well,” said Sue Miller, director of nursing practice. “We have incredible nurses and we want them to know it. We are always striving to be the very best for our patients.”

This year’s winners are: Rachel Carver, Surg Tech; Dawn Mahoney, R.N; Lisa Finnegan, R.N.; Sarah L. Larson, L.P.N; Darcey Fettig, N.S.T.; and Julie Freilberger, R.N.

Fairview Ridges Hospital also offers a Professional Nurse Advancement Program for registered nurses. They are Lisa Destrampe McCarthy, R.N., Donelle Heilman, R.N., Jane Zimmer, R.N., Sarah A.
