Thank you for your interest in volunteering at your community hospital! Volunteering is a wonderful way for you to help others and also get an understanding of what it would be like to work in a hospital setting. Junior Volunteers help out in various areas of the hospital, coming in once a week or every other week for a four-hour shift. In the summer, these shifts are in the mornings, afternoons, and evenings. Shifts are evenings and weekends during the school year.
Due to the serious nature of volunteering in a hospital, our training is extensive. Our process begins with an application and proceeds with medical screening, orientation, interviewing, and on-the-job training. Therefore, we expect that all Junior Volunteers give at least a six month commitment to Fairview Ridges Hospital.
You will gain more than just our appreciation when you volunteer. You’ll form new friendships, learn new skills and enhance the care given to our patients and their families. We work to match your talents, skills and goals to a meaningful volunteer position, taking into consideration your schedule and availability.
